Lakawon Island, Cadiz Viejo

One day, we thought of taking selfies so we travelled to Cadiz Viejo just to do that. Kidding.
Yet again, I experienced another paradise with my friends.

We went to Lakawon Island in Cadiz Viejo. It’s a 2-hour bus ride from Bacolod City to the bus terminal in Cadiz City. From there, we took the tricycle to Cadiz Viejo for an hour. Yes, it is quite far but you are guaranteed fresh air, cool breeze, clean sea, and privacy that’s perfect for a short R and R.

Sad to say, the island was also affected by the supertyphoon last November. Some of the cottages were torn down, the electricity hasn’t been restored, and there was still no food available to be sold to the tourists. But you know, it’s all good.

That’s how tiny the island is.

The first thing that we did was….

To take pictures of our own feet. Haha.

If you ask me, I still prefer Guimaras over Lakawon just because it is closer to home and traveling there doesn’t take that long. But if you’re aiming for solitude, this is the place to be.

My friends and I were only there for a short while but we truly enjoyed the sun and the sand. With Uno cards, some chips, water, and our cellphones, as long as we’re with each other, it’s always a good time.
